NOTICE IS HEREBY given that a majority of the Lee County Board of Commissioners will participate in a Webinar offered by the NC School of Government on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, beginning at 1 p.m.  The 90-minute Webinar will be presented in the Wicker Conference Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford.  The purpose of the Webinar is to discuss Citizen Participation in Local Government Budgeting. The Webinar is open to the public.

Notice of Value - Tax Office

Every year, in accordance with North Carolina General Statutes 105-283 and 105-287, the Lee County Tax Appraisal Division must reassess all real properties that have experienced any type of change such as new construction, remodeling, building demolition, rezoning, acreage change, land splits or merges, etc.  If your property has experienced any of these changes, a property assessment value notice will be mailed to you on Friday March 11, 2011 notifying you of your new real property assessment as of January 1, 2011.  This change will be effective on the 2011 bills that will be mailed out this July.  Please call 919-718-4660 with any questions.

Lee County Fire Advisory Board

Lee County is accepting applications for a vacancy on the Lee County Fire Advisory Board.  The seven member board meets the first Wednesday of each alternating month at 6 p.m. at the Emergency Services Office located at 225 S. Steele Street.  The purpose of the advisory board is to work with the volunteer fire departments on budget matters, capital improvement requests, develop and implement firefighter and volunteer incentive recruitment programs, make recommendations for continuing improvement of the fire protection system, enforce all fire district operational regulations and guidelines for the Lee County fire protection service district, and serve as the official fire service representative to the Lee County Board of Commissioners.  Click here to complete application to serve.  MUST BE A LEE COUNTY RESIDENT TO APPLY.  Forward completed application to Clerk to the Board Gaynell Lee at address listed on application.
