Petfinder App Launched by Lee County Government

In addition to Lee County Google Maps, employment opportunities and a YouTube channel on our Facebook page, we have just built a Petfinder app.  Our shelter houses many animals that may be a perfect pet for someone, and we want to ensure that as many people as possible have a chance to learn about these animals.  Help them find a loving "furever home".  Synching up our current Petfinder site with our Facebook page hopefully will give these animals an even better chance at finding a home.  Please visit the "Pets!!" tab of our Facebook page and pass along this announcement to anyone and everyone that may be interested.  Check back often as the app will update itself when new animals are taken in by our shelter.

Sales Questionnaires to be Mailed

North Carolina law requires each county to conduct a sales-assessment ratio study that measures the sales price of real property in relation to the county’s assessed value. This information is then used to adjust public service company values for taxation, determine funding for school facility needs and contribute to the fair and equitable assessment of all properties. Therefore, the Lee County Appraisal Department will mail out letters this week to individuals and businesses that purchased property in 2009 and whose sale has not already been validated or disqualified. If you receive a letter, please complete the questionnaire and return to the Lee County Appraisal Department to help us better serve the citizens of Lee County.

Where is that???

Ever heard an event location, park or trail mentioned and didn't have any idea where it was?  Lee County Government has the answer.  We just built and deployed a Lee County Google Maps "app" on our Facebook page.  Now we can easily identify Sanford and Lee County events, parks, offices, voting areas, walking; biking; and running trails, etc.  If these maps become popular, another possibility may be to partner with the City of Sanford to identify major road closures and water/sewer line servicing.  The possibilities with our Google Maps application are truly endless.

To experience Lee County Google Maps, become a fan of our Facebook page and locate the "Google Maps" tab.  You'll be able to experience our Google Maps without ever having to leave our Facebook page.  Click on the link to the map you wish to see and it will automatically be embedded into our Facebook page.

This shows our continued strive towards excellence in service.  Please let us know your thoughts about this application and any potential uses it may have.
