Become a Citizen Revaluation Officer - Have a Voice

The tax office is pioneering a program that may transform the way property tax revaluations are conducted.  Become a Citizen Revaluation Officer.  It's simple, and it will show the community your sincereity in contributing to local government in a positive way.  The revaluation is broken into three phases: introduction, schedule of values and the appeals process.  We will be out in the community presenting at the appropriate time for each phase, and we will create YouTube videos for those that can't attend a presentation.  After you have seen the presentation or YouTube video, all you'll need to do is take a short five-question quiz.  That's all.  After all three quizzes have been successfully completed, you'll be deemed Citizen Revaluation Officer!  This may be a great credential for local business professionals and citizens as it will show your knowledge of the property tax system and revaluations.  It also will improve the accuracy of our 2013 revaluation by educating the public on NC laws and what information would be helpful in conducting this revaluation.  Have you ever heard of a tax office preparing the county's citizens for the appeals process?  We are.  Join the program and stay by our side every step of the way.

Register at the below link, and remember to email in your Certificate of Achievement once you successfully complete the quiz (four out of five correct).  Email questions to dbrinson@leecountync.gov.
