June 2011 Real Estate Sales

We now have posted all 140 June real estate transactions in Lee County.  These may be used to help the tax office estimate market value of properties in its 2013 countywide revaluation.  Via the below link you can view the transactions by clicking on the month hyperlink, i.e. June.  An Excel file will appear showing all transactions and property information.  This information is essential for conducting a good revaluation.  If you have information on any of these sales, please fill out a Real Property Sales Questionnaire.  Your participation may simply confirm our records or it may flag us to do a field review.

Public Announcement: O.T. Sloan Park Closed 10/15/11

O.T. Sloan Park will be closed to the public on Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 8:00a.m. – 6:00p.m. for a company picnic.

Vacancies on Boards

The Lee County Board of Commissioners are looking for Lee County citizens to serve on the following boards:
  •       Sandhills Mental Health
  •       Agriculture Advisory Board (must live in the East Sanford District)
  •       Rest Home-Nursing Home Advisory Board (5 vacancies)
  •       Triangle J Advisory on Aging (2 vacancies)

Friends of the Library Book Sale September 28 - October 1

The Friends of the library are holding their annual book sale beginning Wednesday, Sept. 28 until Saturday October 1st. Wednesday the sale is from 5 pm - 7 pm and is for Friends of the Library members only (you may join at the door for $5 for one person or $10 for a family. Thursday is open to the public and is from 12 pm - 4 pm. Friday Sept 30 is open to the public from 4 pm - 8 pm. Finally Saturday is open from 10 am - 2 pm and is the Buy a Bag Sale. If you purchase a Friends of the Library canvas book bag for $3 you may fill it to the brim for an additional $2. Another reason to join the friends is that you receive a 10 % discount at all friends sales if you are a member. Please come out and support the Friends of the Library!

Touch a Truck presented by Boy Scouts of America

Come meet the vehicles that build, protect, and serve our community!

Who: kids of all ages
What: a day to see all kinds of vehicles up close, hear about their jobs, and meet their drivers.
When: September 24, 2011 from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm Rain or shine
Where:  Sanford Lions Club Fair Grounds
Cost: $3.00 per person/$10.00 family maximum with a suggested donation of food for local food pantries and Backpack Pals programs.

Revaluation Sales Verification

The below link will direct you to a site containing Excel files of real estate transactions in Lee County.  May 2011 is the latest full month of sales we have.  If you have information on one or more of these transactions, please fill out a brief sales verification questionairre.  This may confirm the information we have on file or may prompt a field review.  These sales will help the tax office establish market values for the 2013 revaluation.  As we provide complete transparency in the 2013 revaluation process, we appreciate your help in submitting additional information to us.
